Back in Bristol

July 11, 2016

It's been a long time since I've written anything on this blog, and I have a lot of ground to cover. Since I last updated, I've spent 18 months in America, worked on some amazing projects and learned an enormous amount. I'm hoping to talk a bit more about some of the technical concepts I've had the chance to explore in subsequent posts. However, for the moment, I just want to address my short-term goals and current situation.

I've moved back to Bristol - perhaps my favourite city in the UK - and will be working on my own software projects. I am also interested in doing more technical writing; I'll aim to put out content on this blog, as well as on Twitter, on a more regular schedule.

It would be great to become more involved again with the Bristol tech scene. I am particularly interested in discussing the following topics:

  • systems architecture
  • Docker, and container orchestration/devops
  • web development using Django/Flask and Python
  • continuous integration and deployment
  • JavaScript and ES2015

If you run a meetup group, are working on a project that covers one of these areas, or just want to get coffee and chat, please let me know!

I am also considering taking on some short-term consulting/contract projects, so I'm happy to discuss potential opportunities if they are relevant to my experience and interests.
